Testimonials

"Ella's has been featured in Coastal Living magazine as well as the March, 2012 edition of Our State magazine. In April of 2004 it was chosen for inclusion in Southern Living magazine's special publication, Favorites, which features "204 Food Finds Across the Region." Ella's was also voted "Best Seafood in Brunswick County" in 2008 and "Best Seafood Restaurant" by readers of the Brunswick Beacon every year 2008 through 2014. Ella's remains one of the stalwarts of Calabash. It stays open most of the off-season, and it's been doing so since 1950. Ella's draws patrons with good food, affordable prices and a casual, friendly atmosphere. Ella's offers a hearty lunch special that's a real bargain (choice of two kinds of seafood, plus slaw, hushpuppies and fries)."

"Excellent in all ways! Went for oyster roast and it was excellent. Oysters were harvested locally and served hot with melted butter. Wait staff, hostess, and cashier were so friendly; it was like being welcomed into their homes."

"Yes Calabash has plenty of seafood choices but why would someone choose Ella's? Fair prices and great food would be some of the benefits to start with. The general rule of thumb would be to go where the locals go. Well here it is, this is where the locals go."

"The oyster steam pots are a great way to have a night out with friends. Healthy portions to share with friends and family. Well enough for everyone to have some without having to fight for your food. They also have steam pots with shrimp,  Crab legs, etc...  "

"Lunch here is affordable and filling. Meals always start with free hush puppies and they are delicious. Try their selection of soups and sandwiches for lunch. Come back for dinner and try some stuffed flounder. You will not regret it."

"This is a have to meal for my family and me anytime we come to the coast. The food is always the same, good! In my opinion, one cannot go wrong with Ella's. the prices are reasonable, much more so than in Myrtle Beach. A deluxe seafood platter is around $16 and is plenty of food. Shrimp, scallops, oysters, flounder, stuffed crab, slaw, fries and hush puppies come with the deluxe platter. That is what I have every time I go."
